Orvis Case Study

Challenge: Promote Products Through Multiple Channels

Orvis, a leading sporting goods and apparel retailer, wanted to make it easy for customers to access information about its products and special offers from any device, anywhere.

Solution: Fully Automated RSS, Web, and Twitter Publishing

Using SimpleFeed, Orvis automatically aggregates web and data-feed content, then publishes it to RSS feeds, third-party websites, mobile applications, and Twitter accounts. Using any device, customers can easily view product info and special offers, and click through to buy products.

Results: Boost in Marketing Efficacy and Reach

Each night, SimpleFeed imports the Orvis product catalog and current pricing, then determines which content to publish based on pre-established rules and goals. It publishes this content throughout the day to social sites (see image 1), and optimizes Twitter content with custom wording and link shortening. SimpleFeed also publishes the content to RSS feed subscribers (see image 2) and mobile app users, and lets Orvis easily track program effectiveness using SimpleFeed analytics. By publishing its content with SimpleFeed, Orvis has given customers more ways to experience its products – and made it easy for third-party fly fishing enthusiast sites to syndicate its content (see image 3).
